We spent the 4th of July on Carova Beach, NC. Carova Beach is at the north end of the Outer Banks just below the Virginia and North Carolina border. However, it takes us two hours to get there from Chesapeake because we have to drive an hour to reach the Outer Banks and then turn north back to Virginia. The road ends in Corolla and from that point on, you ride on the beach all the way to Carova Beach. But it is worth it. It’s beautiful. There is little traffic. It is famous for it’s wild horses.
Some high school friends of mine settled in Carova Beach 20 years ago when, as he likes to say it, “Went surfing and never came back”. They started a parade on the beach a couple of years ago. It’s a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of it:
Is there a 2015 parade?
I have no idea.
